My little man is growing up!

Tonight, Brayden is at his first sleep over.  It is after midnight.  It looks like he is going to make it for the night.  I just knew that he would call home, wanting us to pick him up.  I was positive the call would come. Well..... guess he is a little braver than I imagined.

He is staying the night with his classmate Riley. Thank goodness I know Riley's parents very well. Otherwise, I would be a nervous wreck.

Being that he made it all night at a friend's house tells me.....  he is a very secure and brave little man.  It also reminds me of how very fast he is growing up.  Where does the time go?  Oh how I would love to keep him little.........

Yeah for Brayden... Those first overnights play out horribly in parents minds... but he little ones are usually so tired they wipe out! Only one of my dds liked spending the night elsewhere... one never did and my current little will but would rather be home! Here's to many more...

awww Misti, their growing up is bitter sweet. My son, Nick, is my sweet baby, and he is now nearly 11 and he's spent the night at just a couple of friend's houses. I'm a stickler for knowing the families well, or I know Nick would never make it. One of his first attempts ended before midnight, at about age 7 or 8, and he just couldn't do it.
Yay for Brayden..........and you can keep trying to keep him little, I still do it sometimes too.

I know that feeling -- Ethan had has first successful non-family sleepover about two months ago. Even though they live just two houses away, I was SURE he was going to call and ask to be picked up. Nope -- the next morning he asked if he could sleep over again!

Not only did Brayden have a great time, he cried when we had to go meet Justin . . . at 9 am.

Ah sleepovers can be scary. Hannah has only done them with a select few friends whose parents I know quite well and trust. I prefer to be the home that the kids want to go to, instead of sending her to others. That's why we bought a Wii and have Rock Band :-) Hoping it will draw the kids here and we can be "the cool house". Hannah seems happy with that too.

Who Knew? Update Version..... Please pass it on.
