The Scentsy Grey's Gift Fundraiser was a success, I believe! I don't have exact numbers yet, but I believe I will be able to give the Morris family a check for $300-$350! My goal was $200 and I am so excited to be able to give more. I couldn't have done it without all those that ordered! Thank you for your contribution. I will have exact numbers on Feb. 10th. I will also give the Morris family a list of those that placed orders! There were a bunch! I can't wait until the quilt is finished and to be able to share pics on my blog.
Things around the Dunlap household have been great. Justin just yesterday, got a newer truck. Poor guy, he will be 32 on Saturday and he is just now driving a nice truck.... not that we are materialistic.... but it is nice to see your hard work pay off. For those of you that knew his old truck.... you know he desperately needed a new one! We got an incredible deal from a salesman at Grande Ford in San Antonio.... his name is Pat Clarkson. It was an amazing experience and exactly how purchasing a vehicle should be. He even delivered it here for us! Reminds me of the good ol' days. My family in South Texas have been dealing with him for over 30 years..... trust me..... you wouldn't believe the deal we got. The people at our credit union were amazed and asked if they had any idea what the value was before they sold it to us!
I have quite a few photo sessions coming up and have even been asked about wedding photography! I would give anything to be able to do it full time. For now, I am enjoying and improving.
Justin and his dad are slowly getting out of the sheep business. They have already sold half of their flock. With all that Justin has going on..... it just got to a point where he couldn't devote the time he wants to at this point. Between ag teaching, new business ventures, hunting and fishing.... it just got to be too much. I just about fell over when he told me that they were considering this. I never in a million years thought he would give that up. We still have approx. 4o sheep and will be lambing them soon. That should be interesting! We are working hard on potty training Bailee. Whoever dreamed that the sight of poo in the potty would have the whole family jumping for joy?
This past weekend, the grandparents watched the kiddos and Justin and I were able to get away for a night. My mom booked us a room at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa for both of our birthdays. It was incredible. Saturday evening we went out to dinner and then headed back to the room to watch Couple's Retreat. I don't remember the last time we have laughed like that in a movie. We absolutely loved it! Sunday morning we awoke to breakfast. We had ordered it the night before. It was delicious. Justin kept choking on it though, because it set us back $45.00, of course at the time.... we didn't realize my mom had covered that too! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and missed the kids tons. It was only for one night..... but it only takes one night to realize the blessings that you have. At times, those blessings can exhaust you.... but time away allows you this realization.
Show season officially starts tomorrow with turkeys in S.A. For the next 2 1/2 months.... daddy is going to be running ragged with very little time spent at home. Tonight he was able to come home early and he spent most of the night wrestling with the kids. There is NOTHING like fixing dinner and hearing the laughter of your husband and children. That is complete and utter happiness!
Well.... time to head to bed. Thought I would post a quick update before heading off..... didn't turn out so quick! Good night!
